Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated July 2, 2026
Template — this document was drafted for LMI-OS and is pending review by LMI leadership and, where appropriate, legal counsel. It describes current practice in good faith but is not legal advice.
LMI-OS includes messaging, file uploads, submissions, and member profiles. This policy keeps those safe for everyone. Violations can lead to content removal, suspension, or removal from the organization.
Do not
| Prohibited conduct | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Share your login or use someone else's account | Protects everyone's data and the integrity of grades, points, and attendance. |
| Attempt to access another member's messages, grades, submissions, or files | Authorization abuse is treated as a serious violation. |
| Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or impersonate anyone | Applies to messages, profiles, submissions, and any other content. |
| Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages | The inbox is for genuine club communication. |
| Upload malware, copyrighted material without permission, or a firm's confidential documents | Protects members and the organization legally. Never upload material nonpublic information (MNPI) or anything covered by an NDA from an internship or job. |
| Scrape or export member data for recruiting, marketing, or spam | The directory exists for club purposes only. |
| Present stock pitches or research as professional or official investment advice | All investment content on LMI-OS is educational. |
| Probe, overload, or automate against the platform (rate-limit abuse, scraping, unauthorized API use) | Protects uptime and data. |
Messaging & community guidelines
- Treat the inbox like a professional channel — the same standard as a club meeting.
- No harassment, hazing, or exclusionary behavior. One warning at most.
- Don't share other members' personal information without their consent.
- Recruiting-related conversations should respect firms' confidentiality rules.
