We're not screening for finance majors.
LMI welcomes students from every major and background. What we look for isn't a pre-existing finance résumé — it's the curiosity, professionalism, and follow-through that makes someone worth investing time in. Members come in from finance, engineering, kinesiology, government, communications, and everything in between. The common thread is character.
- Genuine interest in markets, money, and how the world works financially
- Professionalism and follow-through that doesn't need to be reminded
- Coachability — willingness to put in the reps and ask questions
- A drive to use LMI as a springboard, regardless of major

A two-stage process — written application followed by interviews.
INFO SESSION
First week of Fall semester
Open to all UT students. Learn what LMI does, meet members, ask questions.
WRITTEN APPLICATION
Opens early September
Submit a written application via Google Form. Reviewed holistically by the executive committee.
INTERVIEWS
Mid-September
Selected applicants are invited for a brief conversation with members of the exec committee.
DECISIONS
Within 2 weeks of close
Acceptance decisions communicated by email.
